You can have your cake and eat it too!

Here are some pictures and a video of Tyson eating his cake. We gave him the whole cake to start out with, to see what he would do. He loved the icing! After we took it away to cut off a smaller piece for him, he started signing the word "more." That's the only sign language we've taught him and boy has he taken to doing that word when it's meal time. I'm telling ya, this kid can pack it away. It might have been a mistake to teach him that word. Anyway, he loved his chocolate cake and kept clapping after every bite. I don't know where he picked up on that...I don't think I've clapped after I've eaten chocolate in front of him ;). He makes me laugh and I love him so much!

Okay..so I couldn't get the video to work. I'll have to keep trying. In the meantime, imagine him putting his fingers in the icing and sticking it in his mouth and going back for more and more each time.

#1

Hard to believe only a year ago I looked like this...
Even more hard to believe, that Tyson looked like this...
I can't believe a year has gone by so quickly. Looking back at old pictures of his birth makes me realize how I've forgotten what it was like to care for a newborn. There are some similarities though that Tyson has kept through this past year.

We still love baths and are quite large in them.

We like to sleep in our carseat and quickly grow out of them.

And we still love to watch sports with our dad.

We sure love our big guy! We can't wait to have him dive into his cake tonight. I have no doubt he won't disappoint. We'll be sure to post pictures later!

What does one do for fun in February in Nebraska?

(A post in response to a friend's subtle inquiry)

Well...

We wrestle with dad...

We play with boxes...

And when the weather is a warm 55 degrees outside, we play at the park! Me, being an Arizona girl, never thought I would say 55-60 deg. weather was warm. That is until I've experienced temperatures in the single digits and negatives. We have a park within a short walking distance from our house and that's where we headed for a couple days straight! Tyson loves the swings. I'm anxious to have him be able to walk around the playground on his own so he can enjoy more things but this will have to do for now
