October!

Moving Day!  We moved into our house the weekend before Halloween and I can't tell you how excited I was to see the moving truck with all of our stuff coming out of it! It had been stored in Omaha for 3 months and we missed it all!

Hard to get a picture of the house with a truck in front (the house with the ladder), so I will have to update with better pictures later.

So seeing as my sewing machine came off the truck on Saturday, I hurried and made Tyson's costume the day before Halloween and day of the church party! I thought he looked adorable in his Snowman get-up!

Here we are at the church party...he had to hike up the bottom a little bit so that he could run around better with the other kids! I love this profile shot! So funny!

Night of trick-or-treating.  We didn't see any kids for awhile and turns out they have a little block party at the front of our neighborhood where they gather around for pizza and a parade and then all the kids set off together!

Camille carried her bucket around with her for the whole next week! I mean, everywhere.  In her crib and inside Tyson's preschool when dropping him off and picking him up. We had to draw the line at going to church. I tried to capture Tyson's hair and just how sweaty he got running around.  Tha'ts what happens in Texas in October I guess!

September activites!

The house we rented had a pool in the backyard which the kids loved and was perfect for some hot summer days.  Once Tyson got these cool 'clearance' floaties, he roamed the pool with new confidence!

The Botanical Gardens had a dinosaur exhibit so we headed down there one hot hot day.  I think it was in the 100's that day!  You can tell te kids were a little pink and sweaty.

Preschool also started. Here is Tyson's first day! He goes Tues/Thurs. 9-2.

We also signed him up for YMCA soccer and didn't know how he'd do.  But he surprised us all! He did really well and loved it.

#9!
About to score!

We also hit up the zoo one day (Omaha zoo has a very similar lion statue!)

2

Camille turned 2 in August.  How we love this darling girl! She is definitely quirky and fun and pretty laid back.  She can be quietly stubborn, and like to do things in her own way, a trait she most likely got from her mom.  She loves to tease, but loves to please.  She likes to choose her own outfits (most often by process of eeny meeny miny moe) but then will the carry the outfits that didn't make the cut around with her throughout the day.  She talks really well and all the time but is shy around people.  I don't think she says a peep in nursery.  She is my picky eater but will sit with us at dinner time if just for the socializing. Happy Birthday Camille!

Minne Mouse from Grandma!

She was perfectly content to let Tyson open all her presents and would ooh and ah at them.  Then hand him the next one.

A new shopping cart and cash register for her birthday! Tyson was super excited;)

She loved the '2' on her birthday cake...

and the cake as well.  Pink with pink sprinkles!

The girls!

The boys donned frosting mustaches...

And Camille wanted to join in on the fun and did this to herself!
We love this little girl and the spunk she adds to our family!

A day at the Ranch

One of our first weekends in San Antonio, we decided get out and do something fun as a family. We decided on a drive-thru Wildlife Ranch. I will tell you that our animal-loving boy was in heaven! It really was a neat experience because the animals came right up next to the car!  It helped that we were given a free bag of food that us and all other cars were dropping out the window.  I was worried all the animal horns were going to scratch our car!

No big deal...just an ostrich walking outside my window!

Completed surrounded!

This little fellow came right up to the window and opened wide, so I began throwing food pellets into his mouth, which he proceeded to chomp then open up for more!

Me and my friend.

Scott was not a fan of the ostrich.

You weren't supposed to feed them from your hand but what do you do when they stick their head in your car and start sniffing around?!

Afterwards, we went to their petting zoo.  Camille had to pet every single one of the goats and the was a lot of them.

Tyson was more content to stand back and point.  Don't know why he was a little gun shy.

Finally convinced him to pet a llama.

Fun day at the Ranch! What a fun experience for the kids...and us!

Moving on...

We are alive and officially Texans.  It's been a long couple of months but am glad to say we are finally getting settled.  There is an overhaul of pictures and stories and catching up so we'll start small and move from there!  I really miss Omaha, which is something 5 years ago, I thought I'd never say. Tyson was only 3 months old when we moved and the only house he's ever known.  We lived in a great neighborhood with wonderful friends.  We knew we'd never be there long term but it really was home to us.  We are excited for this new adventure though and knew it was the right time for us move on in Scott's career.  So far San Antonio has been great.  We have been very blessed and are figuring things out and finding our way around.  It helps that we now have our own home after renting someone else's house with someone else's furniture.  Anyhow...we'll get to that another time.
Here are a few pics from moving day:
They loaded all our things into crates to be put in storage in Omaha.

Kids watching out the window as all their things get packed away (I love how it looks like Camille is comforting Tyson).

That night we headed over to the park to spend time with our friends for a little goodbye party.  I love how the guys and girls always congregate in different spots.

The girls from the ward, missing a few!  I sure miss these girls and their friendly faces and just knowing they were friends you call for anything!

Family photo the morning we left...

Our neighborhood and close friend, Jesse (representing the rest of the Miller family who happened to be in Utah the weekend we left...it was probably for the best because there probably would have been more tears).  I miss having Melanie close by to borrow things from, wave to while driving/walking by, swap babysitting with, sharing dinners, and especially laughing with the whole family!
